Our Process

We are a design build firm.  We have resources to help you from the very beginning of your home or remodel through to completion.  If you have plans that have already been completed by an architect or designer, no problem, we have the experience and expertise to  work work with existing architectural or designer plans.

Our process allows us to build a beautiful home or new space for you to enjoy for years to come.

Initial Meeting

The goal of this meeting is to get to know you and allow you to get to know us, to broadly define the scope of work that is being considered and to gather information that can be used to provide a reasonably accurate preliminary estimate. We will talk about function, style, and of course budget. We will take field measurements of the existing space if necessary and investigate potential challenges and opportunities. Shortly after the initial meeting we will provide you with a rough estimate of the potential cost of your project. There is no cost for the initial meeting.

Design Development

The next step is to enter into a design agreement and begin refining the plan, ultimately resulting in a custom designed plan that is fully detailed and construction ready. During the design process a construction specification will be prepared which further clarifies the scope of work to be completed. There is a small fee for design development.

Cost Analysis

Once plans are complete, or nearly complete, we will begin a cost analysis. Depending on the size and nature of the project an on-site trades meeting may be necessary. During the cost analysis, the contract specifications will be finalized. We handle coordination of items required to build such as permits, code reviews and structural engineering.

Finalizing the Project Plan

Once the cost analysis has been completed, a final contract price will be presented along with a final project specification, final plans, and an allowance budget. During this meeting we will review the project timeline and what you should expect during various phases of the build or remodel process. After we sign the contract documents, we will choose a start date, award bids, and implement the project schedule. This is an important step in the process as a clear understanding of the project helps to ensure a great build experience.
