Continuing to set new standards of professionalism, companies from across the United States were named winners at the 2025 Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
The Chrysalis Awards program, sponsored by Qualified Remodeler Magazine, began in 1994, recognizes the nation's best work in sixteen general categories of residential and commercial remodeling. The Chrysalis Awards are open to any professional remodeler and design professional in the United States.
"This was the first year Summit Construction & Management entered the awards, and to take home top honors on the first attempt is impressive," says Ken Kanline, Director of the Awards. "To win an award in this highly competitive category is quite an achievement," Ken Kanline adds.
“We are truly honored to receive this national remodeling award from Qualified Remodeler—especially in our first year entering. This recognition is a testament to the dedication, craftsmanship, and passion our team brings to every project. We take great pride in transforming homes and improving the lives of the families we serve, and this award reinforces our commitment to excellence in our industry. I’m incredibly proud of our team and grateful to our clients for trusting us with their homes.”

Award winning bathroom
Updating this master bathroom was a part of a larger first floor renovation of this prominent house. The client wanted their dated bathroom to be functional, comfortable with prominent spa features and aesthetically consistent with the rest of the project. The current space had a small shower, oddly placed adjacent to a double vanity, with a giant tub they no longer used. While they liked each of the features, the existing layout felt oddly placed.

To accommodate their vision, while using the existing footprint, we moved placement of the shower to where the large tub had been to create a large spa like shower experience. The new tub was placed on the opposite wall positioned under the window, with vanities on each side, giving the clients their own space. A TV was installed to relax in the tub or catch morning news. The design perfectly framed the window while highlighting the beautiful custom cabinetry and fixtures. We installed radiant heat under a travertine tile floor. The custom cabinetry/vanities included waterfall countertops that intersected with the quartzite custom tub surround.
In the shower, tile placement and lighting highlights the shower’s vaulted ceiling and task lighting was installed in the niche’s to create a more tranquil spa setting. A curbless shower with French doors provided unique modern feel.

French shower doors allow large shower entrance, further opening the bathroom design and showcasing the shower's spa elements.
Below, note the curbless shower install, brining the beautiful travertine floor seamlessly into the shower.

Before, the tub area extended beyond the bathroom's entrance, creating a closed space. The new design eliminated unused space behind the tub to position the adjacent shower wall flush with the bathroom entrance enhancing the open bathroom design and creating additional space for the shower.

In floor heating installed making the tile floor and room temperature warm in winter months.

Bathroom before - long narrow closed space lacked function with awkward dated design.

New design and layout not only gave our client a beautiful spa bathroom retreat, it opened up the once cramped space, making functional use of the existing footprint. The transformation is tremendous
